Blackbeards Liveaboard Cruise - Bahamas

Weather, a hangover, and an imminent flight cut some dives from this trip, but I still managed to get 15 logged. Most dives were within a few miles of Bimini, but also a couple just out of Freeport, Grand Bahamas.

Max depths ranged from 20 feet (The Hespress - east of Bimini) to 133 feet (Krispy Kreme - west of Bimini), or as deep as you want - the wall drops off to about 2,000 feet. Excellent viz - at 133 feet, I could look up and see the boat.

There was something interesting to see at every site we visited. Lionfish on The Hespress, the shark dive at Bull Run, and healthy gorgonians and coral everywhere. French, Queen, Grey, and Rock Beauty angelfish, Spotted Morays, stingrays, barracuda, Blacktip Reef sharks - you won't be bored!

This is an economy liveaboard so it's not 5-star accommodations, but they make up for it with an excellent cook. Mike made some amazing meals in a kitchen barely big enough to turn around in, including a conch salad made from the fresh conch picked up by a group that went out snorkelling.

I'd love to make this trip again.
