 Additional Information

English (Translate this text in English): Wreck of a mercantile ship sunk by a boat mine after the II WW , when she transported aids to Rijeka. One of most interesting wrecks in nord adriatic.

The cargo ship "VIS" was build 1921 in Port Glasgow by Dunlop, Bremner & Co. She was 79m long, 12,5m wide and had 2865 BRT.
On the 13th of february 1946 she was heading to Rasa to load a cargo of coal and was going close to the Istrian cost in a save declared corridor, because the minefields were still not cleared.
But a mine hit the ship on the portside and after 10 minutes the "VIS" was gone, causing a loss of 3 lives.
Now she is standing upright & intact on the sandy bottom and as the guy above said: "propably one of the best wrecks in the adriatic sea"!
