Coulé à 13h00 le 9 octobre 1942 dans le golfe de Gascogne près de Lorient, en France, par des mines britanniques. 22 morts et 30 survivants.
C'est une très bonne plongée.
Depuis 1999, il est interdit de plonger à l'intérieur de l'épave en faisant appel à l'amitié des sous-marins allemands qui veut faire un mémorial de l'épave.
