hms Perseus, crew. - My uncle, William Burford, was a crew member on Perseus when she struck a mine and sank with the loss of all but one of the crew.The surviving crewman managed to swim to Kefalonia and, after some time, was smuggled to Alexandria to rejoin the Allied war effort.
